When you look at an LED screen's specifications, you will always find values like P2.5, P4 or P8. This is the "pixel pitch" and it is the most important indicator of image quality.
The simple definition
Pixel pitch is the distance in millimeters between the centers of two neighboring pixels. P3 means 3 mm. The smaller the number, the more pixels and the sharper the image.
How it relates to viewing distance
Rule of thumb: the minimum viewing distance in meters is roughly equal to the pixel pitch number. So a P4 screen looks sharp from about 4 meters and beyond.
Which one to choose
For screens close to the viewer (shops, salons) choose P1.5–P3. For facades and highways where the viewer is far, P6–P10 is economical and sufficient.
